History/Significance Built by the Rajput rulers of Bundelkhand, towers majestically above the town. More than 250 years old.
Threat Neglect and lack of maintenance
Remark Picturesque Charkhari which was a culturally rich princely state before Independence has been referred to as the ‘Kashmir of Bundelkhand’ and a ‘Mini Vrindavan’. A number of temples and water bodies dot the landscape of the town.

  1. Pl. add saome hist. background & access details for tourists. Also think how we can force A.S.I/ state Arch. Deptt. to iniitiate some action to put up signage and adopt P.P.P mode to protect at least such neglected monuments.
